Lake Taneycomo (Table Rock Dam)

Description of Water

Lake Taneycomo, in Taney County, is in the heart of some of Missouri’s major tourist industry — Branson, Missouri. Lodging, while plentiful, is often booked solid. Access to the Table Rock Dam and State Park is via Highway 165 southwest of Branson. There are some very large trout to be caught in this lake due to the productive tailwater environment. The first mile below Table Rock Dam ranges from 50 to 100 feet wide, and can be waded. The water levels are subject to rapid fluctuation depending on power generation at the dam.
