dead drifters winter conclave?

Now that the rivers are getting empty, it might be time to think about a Dead Drifters conclave.  Anyone up for it?  Any ideas on where or when to get together for a drift boat float and fish?  Just throwing it out there.

I think that is a great idea Brian.

I am going to be down floating the White on 10/22 through 10/25 (staying at RiverCliff), if that is a good weekend for a get together.  I would suggest one of the tailwaters, only because there is more water if there is more than 3 boats floating……it would make fishing tough on the Eleven Point or NFOW.

If not the October weekend, then why not do it the weekend of 11/14 or 12/13?

The Nov and Dec dates would be better for me, as my guide schedule won't allow the Oct dates.  I try to stay off the water here on opening weekend of deer season, which is your Nov 14 date.  If you did it here or the NFOW, I think the Dec date would be best.

I could do a december or January float.  My november is getting a little crammed with some fishing excursions (so long as Mr. Wise….mans up).

My vote would be to have the "conclave" at either the NFOW or the Eleven Point for the following reasons.  On the tailwaters I prefer to fish from a John Boat because if there is no generation, it sucks rowing long distances to get to a shoal and if they are running lots of water, it sucks because you can't row back to a good hole you just passed through.  The other reason is the whole scrubbing of the boat process to make sure I am not transporting didymo.  If we have too many boats on the other rivers, we can always run a couple of different sections or spread out by staggering our start times or something like that.

How about Dec 12 or Dec 19.  I would be happy to have it here, but I am open to NFOW as well.

The weekend of December 12 would work.

I could go either way — Eleven Point or NFOW.  Or we could step out of our box and float the Niangua?

Since I see the 12th and 18th don't work for two people, how about the 5th of Dec.  I am still open to the NFOW, but would be happy as could be to do it here on the 11 Point.  There will be plenty of water and the fishing should be good then.  Any thoughts?

Since no one has spoken up, how about Dec 5 here at the Eleven Point.  Please speak up if you are interested, as I will hold that date open and not book any guide trips on that day for about another week.  If I hear nothing, I'll assume no one is interested and book that date if I get the request.

Brian:

I flat can't make anything happen before Christmas.  I am leaving early thanksgiving morning for 5 days….we are coming to a stream near you….again…..and will need to lay low on weekend trips for at least the first two weekends in December.

Give me a call and I'll give you a heads up on where to fish, as I will be gone over Thanksgiving.  Jan sounds good to me for a conclave.

I am finally here. Didn't know the forum was back up and how and the hell am I supposed to remember my password after so long?

December is out since it is almost gone.

January is OK for the 9th, maybe. The 16th and 23rd are out as I may be on the way to Idaho Falls to get Kevin's new boat and we just might christen it out there.

I would prefer to do the NFOW since I've never done it and it is closer. Eleven Point is fine also. think we should float all together and take photos of each others boats and scare the locals with all the boats together.

I also have the first 2 weekends open in february but that may be taken if we don't go west in January.

Also Matt Why don't you have my blog on your blog roll? I am hurt!

Why do I have to do math ?

@ Everyone:

Brian and I are floating the NFOW on 01/09.  So, that weekend works by default.

@Ken:

I will fix the whole blog roll thing.

@Everyone:

The math is a simple way to keep spam from posting.  Also, if you have an avatar and want it loaded, you can drop me an email with the image you want as your avatar attached and I will get it up for you.
