Dave:

Yes, you definitely need to venture outside of the trout parks. However, they do serve thier purpose and in the fall / winter during the C&R season, you can sometimes hit them and not see another person all day -- but from March through October, fogetaboutit.

I pretty much end my fishing season around May 1 and pick it back up again in late September. The rivers can get crowded with floaters and unfortunately, my job keeps me away from the rivers on most weekdays. Besides, I am a fat man and can't stand the summer heat / humidity.

All that being said, I am headed to the White River this weekend (4/18 and 4/19). Both seats in my drift boat are occupied, but we are staying in a cabin, near a campground and will gladly point you in the right direction to accesses and what not. If you haven't fished down in Arkansas on the White, then you definitely need to head down there.

Any chance you could take me with you on your next trip? I just moved here from VA and I'm used to open streams without seeing anyone all day. I've been to two spots locally (trout parks ... I now know better) and it's been awful.

I will drive! Just looking to wet a line without worrying about tangling lines with the 15 people standing right beside me. Cheers, Dave

It is a great shop Matt. It's bigger than it looks from the inside. The first time I saw it I was impressed. Especially in the back area.

I SO dig that little stream now. I probably would have traded you the opener for fishing the Little Piney.
